Shoreline Quiltalong (digital)

$30.00

The Shoreline Quiltalong is an online quiltalong with a downloadable pattern. It’s an opportunity to join others as they make unique versions of this stash-friendly quilt while honing their design and quilting skills. The pattern includes three sizes with variations so you can customize your quilt. There will be four installments, released a week at a time in June.

Bill and Weeks will lead you step-by-step to complete the Shoreline quilt with video tutorials, a live Q+A and detailed downloadable instructions.  All details for this quiltalong, including links to download the four installments and view the supporting videos, will be posted on a secret webpage available to you after you purchase this quiltalong. These will be available for a minimum of six months after purchase. This is an entirely digital quiltalong. You’ll need access to the internet and a printer to download and print the directions.

IMPORTANT: After purchase, our system emails you a receipt. That receipt has a link that says “CLICK HERE to download the Shoreline Guide to your device.” The receipt is sent promptly. If it’s not in your inbox, check your junk/spam folder.

Click the link on your receipt and download your guide promptly. You have 60 days from the purchase date to download the manual before the link expires. The guide is a pdf file that explains how to access a secret web portal called the Beach House where you will access the instructions, video tutorials and vital information for the entire quiltalong. Print and keep your Shoreline Guide in a safe place. We cannot resend expired links or replace lost manuals. You won’t need the download link again after you’ve downloaded and printed the Shoreline Guide pdf.

Sizes, Fabric Selection and Requirements

The amount of fabric needed to complete your quilt will depend on what size you are making, how wide your vertical strips are, and if you’re using scraps or yardage. The yardage requirements below are an estimate. We’ll be combining our 2025 LTD bundle, our Spring bundle and fabrics from our stash to make a napping quilt. We won’t use all of the fabric in those bundles but we want the light and dark values for this quilt and will use the remaining fabric for other projects.

You can make the baby/wall size quilt using just the 2025 LTD bundle (1 Fat Quarter each from all 22 fabrics in the line). To make the napping size with the bundle, you’ll want to combine it with additional lights (such as our Spring bundle) or a solid background fabric. In general using either all solids or all prints/batiks/yarn dyes works best.

The May 2025 Quilts First! livestream on Facebook (available recorded later on our YouTube channel) will help you better understand fabric requirements and how to pull a palette together from your stash if you are sewing without the 2025 LTD bundle. A recording of the livestream will be available afterwards on our YouTube channel. We’ll go into additional detail in the preview video released in mid-May.

Here’s a general list of what you will need. Keep in mind that the way you customize your quilt will affect the yardage needed.
