Fabric for Good – Blue/Green solids

$32.00

We periodically use our resources to support charitable causes around the world. This time it’s in our village.

We’re bundling and selling our fabric remnants to support an Ecuadorian migrant family with two children. They fled their homeland, which has been overtaken by violence and is in a state of emergency as drug gangs have taken over the country. The family walked and traveled overland to the US through the jungle and 7 countries, leaving behind jobs, family and their homes. After they arrived in the US they were unknowingly bussed and dropped off in Chicago last winter with no notice to local authorities, with no food, no shelter and no warm clothing.

Our village agreed to house 160 of these people, about one third of whom are children. The children are enrolled in our schools and volunteers are raising funds and working to find temporary housing and work for them. While waiting for their asylum work permits to be approved, we’re raising money to help provide food and basic necessities as they pick up any odd jobs they can. They are highly motivated to work hard and make positive contributions to our country. 100% of the profits from these sales will be donated to this family.

If you would like to contribute to all of these families in our village, we recommend the work being done by the Community of Congregations. You can make a donation to their resettlement fund here.

Each bag contains a unique assortment of primarily blue and/or green solids totaling approximately 4 yards. Photos  are representative of the variety being sent, not images of the specific bag you will receive as each will vary.
